Overview
I designed the brand identities for Beavr, a French startup on Station F's Top 40 list, and Purdy Marketing Co., a boutique American firm. Guided by their companies' core principles, I produced unique visual frameworks for consistent and memorable brands. Key elements included a logo, color palette, typography, and imagery (photography, illustration, and/or patterns).
Beavr brand identity
To begin, I led a remote brainstorming session with the founders to define their company's core principles. This session was critical for me to understand their vision and to get them aligned and invested. From there, the principles guided the approach.
The brand was also inspired by the company name. As beavers are tireless builders who work in groups to create dams, we used simple lines rearranged and stacked to represent their powerful output.
At the project's conclusion, I delivered a Style Guide outlining best practices and things to avoid. I also provided a Figma file containing components corresponding to the Style Guide.
Beavr deck design
I like to understand where the brand will be used so I can use it as a playground to test out and apply the guidelines, while producing something of value. At the time, Beavr was just starting out, so pitch decks were instrumental. I designed formatted templates for 3 decks.
Purdy Marketing Co.
When Purdy Marketing Co. (PMC) approached me, they were looking to rebrand. They'd already established clear brand principles and a general visual style. They needed help implementing their vision into something polished, clear-cut, and repeatable. This project is currently underway, to be completed by the end of 2023. Coming soon!
